Blessings in the wind, making mixed-media prayer flags in Fresno

This was the first time I’ve ever taught for a guild twice in the same year! How cool is that?

Debbie Girt (on bottom left of photo) took my Painting Imagery with Textile Paints workshop in February when I was there last and brought her finished Seahorses wall hanging to show and tell. Didn’t it come out great?

I love the driftwood hanger and glass sea baubles hanging on the sides.

The Fresno Fiber Arts Guild is such a nice fit for me, because they are interested in all fiber arts and don’t limit themselves to quilting. Another interesting thing this group does, is have the meeting Saturday morning, break for lunch, then have 3 hours of workshop time and then follow with 6 more hours on Sunday.

This is such a perfect set up for many of the classes I do because it lets us leave fabric overnight to dry and then have a full day to work on our colored base fabrics.  And lastly, I love being able to load up my car with supplies and drive just under 3 hours to get there, not to mention that they’re a lot of fun to hang out with too!

So many fun and beautiful flags to send positivity out into the universe.

Are you teaching in Sacramento this year? If yes do you have dates and which of your classes you are teaching? Happy holidays.

    • Hi Gina, I have a few things in the works in Sacto for 2018. I have a 2 day class at Meissners on June 1-2, we haven’t settled on a workshop yet, and I have a Fiesta Ornaments workshop scheduled Oct 27 there as well. And I have a 2 day Paint & Print-a-palooza workshop with River City Quilt guild Sept 19-20. I’m happy to have several local gigs this year 🙂

    Hi Judy,
I wanted to comment on your post from down under but I got distracted. Anyway, I love looking at all the beautiful work that you do and I really enjoy looking at what your students do as well. They are all so different, yet all beautiful just the same!
Thanks for sharing as I am, unfortunately, one that cannot travel and does not have the opportunity to take one of your classes. I do love looking at all the beauties that everyone makes!
    Hugs,
    Joanie

    • Hi Joanie,

nice to hear from you! I’m so glad you enjoy my workshop posts. I think it’s so fun to see how everyone can get the same instructions and yet have completely unique and beautiful results.

I’m glad you’re also enjoying my posts about our trip down under. I have a lot more posts to write over the next several weeks on the amazing places we went.

      Take care, Judy
