What a great show! It was really wonderful to be at the Brisbane Quilt and Craft Fair the week following teaching in the Sunshine Coast and the 2 day workshop for the Queensland Quilters, because it felt like a steady stream of friends kept stopping by to say hi. Sue Duffy and Brenda Wood were a few star students in the 2 day Acrylic Inks workshop, they were so fun to paint with. They belong to a talented group of textile artists called the Reddy Arts. I know if I lived in Brisbane, I’d want to hang out and make art with them on a regular basis too.
Throughout the week I taught short workshops in the pop up classroom Cecile has in the Unique Stitching booth.
So much beautiful work was produced around this table.
It was great to see this project from the acrylic inks workshop just days before finished and hanging in exhibits.
On further wondering through exhibits I came upon the dynamic duo: Ali George and Sue Dennis manning the Queensland Art Quilters /SAQA booth
After I suggested we get a photo together, Ali gave us a few tips on proper posing. It took Sue and I a minute or two to get it down, lol, we look downright professional now 🙂
I want to give special thanks to Cecile Whatman of Unique Stitching for her amazing organization and planning to make this once in a life time trip possible, Cheers to you Cecile! Well done!
