I have to say this had to be one of those peak moments in life where I felt like I needed to pinch myself to be sure I was wasn’t dreaming.
Cecile and I boarded this boat with about 200 tourists, the majority from China, for a two hour trip out into the luminescent blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef.

The variety of blues were extraordinary, from turquoise to ultramarine, light and dark, grayed and pure.

Halfway out to the reef, we stopped briefly at Green Island to drop off a large group of people to stay over at the resort there.

Our destination was this floating base out on the reef, where we spent 3 hours soaking in the beauty, having lunch

and taking the plunge

I saw lots of colorful fish but I didn’t manage to get photos of any except for this little yellow guy.
