Wednesday morning, Leslie, Jamie and I packed a van and a car full of quilts, suitcases and supplies for teaching and headed to Long Beach to check in to the hotel and hang The Space Between exhibitthey curated.
We hung 40 quilts in record time, it probably helped that I’m so tall I could skip using the ladder and toss the hanging things over the top of the rods and adjust the quilts.
Without the AC on in the convention center it gets pretty warm on set up day. After several hours of hanging and adjusting the alignment of all the quilts, we were pooped.

We were thrilled to catch up with Pokey at the end of the day.

Put my feet up, Martha? lol, Don’t I wish, now I have to prep for two classes at Create in a couple weeks, then fly off to Cleveland to shoot three more segments for QATV, which has a ton of prep work involved as well. Oh and I can’t forget about meeting with lawyers about the big D and find a ton of paperwork for that, No rest for the weary! LOL
What a beautiful show that is going to be. I cannot believe doing all that without air.

Judy, A sincere thank you for your hard work on this exhibit. I am so honored to be a part of it. I wish I could have been there. You continue to be an inspiration. I know you are busy and would like to “take a breather” now and then, but there will be time for that later. Carpe Diem, Judy, Carpe Diem! I am so proud of you.

did you know hoffman fabrics was started by two old surf dogs from dana point? Walter and Philip (flippy)and FLippy just passed recently. I got to hang with him on the north shore of oahu spring of 02, was way kool. also, they have a fabric library and have everysingle fabric they have ever printed. how i found out the name and date of some amazing surf fabric i had. also it is walter’s son in law, herbie fletcher in all the shots so there would be no hassel with copyright. it was called jade classic and from 70. i love that fabric wish i had alot more……also, mission viejo used to be nothing but miles and miles or orange groves. started out as a housing project and is now a full blown town?!!!!!!
