The day before setting up for AQC, Cecile and I took a trip out to the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park. It’s about a 45 minute drive from Melbourne and has a wonderful indoor gallery space, great restaurant and lovely grounds.
The grounds for the sculpture garden were beautiful from a formal park like setting with a pond to wooded trails and rolling manicured lawns to house the different works and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for a day out walking.
This sphere was so amazing made from bicycle tires.
This sandstone mallet looked just like it was carved from wood.
There were a few interactive sculptures, this one had a motion detector that triggered different city sounds each time you walked between the houses.

I loved these kangaroos made from street signs.
This was an interesting nod to Australia’s architectural history of using corrugated metal as a building material.
