My first day in Brisbane began with a visit to the Queensland Quilt Guild to give two lectures. What made the day even more fun was to have my good friend Sue Dennis show up at the meeting and offer to take me out to see the sights between lectures.
Sue took me to Mt Coot, the highest point above Brisbane to have lunch with a magnificent view of the city.
You can just make out the river that runs through Brisbane out to the ocean in the distance.
After lunch we took a walk in the bush where we met up with another bush turkey, casually strolling through the park.
As we drove across town for a cup of tea in Sue’s lovely garden
we passed another koala sign, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing those.
In the evening I gave a second lecture to the guild and the next morning Cecile and I drove 50 miles north of Brisbane to the small mountain town of Peachester where I gave a workshop on painting with Tsukineko inks.
