Fantastic 3 day Unique Stitching retreat in Canberra

3 tired but happy teachers: Sue Dennis, Cecile Whatman and Me

What a great retreat Cecile organized, and on very short notice too, I think she pulled off organizing and booking it in 3 months and it was a huge success!

I was still transitioning to a time zone 7 hours different from my own when the retreat started 48 hours after I arrived, so I completely forgot to take any photos the first day, but I did manage to get photos on the second in my Tsukineko inks class. There was a lot of beautiful work produced in class.

Some of the other highlights of the retreat include: getting a beautiful bouquet of fresh picked native Waratah flowers, they are the official flower of New South Wales,

waratahhaving daily tea, and delicious lunches,

teaand delightful students! Marie, Elizabeth and Carol were multi day students with me.

and of course wonderful dinners with Cecile, her husband Glen and Sue at the end of the day. I think this Turkish restaurant had the best hummus I’ve ever tasted.

Cecile will be organizing another retreat next year the same weekend 19-21 September in Canberra with a new line up of teachers, so if you’re an Aussie, be sure to mark your calendars, and sign up for Unique Stitching‘s newsletter for updates, you wont want to miss it!
